I love the DBZ movie marathon and all, but as a side note, if you don't do Gurren Lagann right after the rest of the movies, I will track you down and disembowel you. K? XD
That whole "higher consciousness" thing isn't reeeally why Slug was a Super Namek, at least not in the Japanese version. Slug had a rare mutation that made him 100 percent evil (didn't know there was such a thing as an "evil gene," but there you go). His origin was also the same as Kami's: he was sent away as a baby before the great cataclysm on Namek, but landed on a planet called (you guessed it) Slug, instead of Earth. Don't really get why FUNI changed that, but hey, Disturbed music!
And I agree, the action in this movie is awesome. Piccolo actually gets some pretty sweet fight scenes for the next couple of movies before he disappears entirely.
Great review lani. I have to say that Lord Slug was probably in my top 3 DBZ movies for sure (Super Android 13, and the first Broly one), and it was actually really good despite Icarus burning horrific memories into my retinas. Despite that, Piccolo actually being useful for more than 5 mins for pretty much the first and last time until Super 13 (he was for almost EXACTLY 5 mins) was pretty awesome.
and screw it, DBZ needed a little more brutality. I mean Nappa f**king cut tenshinhan's arm off in the series
Well, Piccolo did have his moments in the Cooler movies, where he took on the Armored Squadron and pretty much led the fight against Meta-Cooler's non-duplicate robot warriors. Although I never really timed those fights when I watched them, so maybe they did last five minutes :P
Fucked time line? You mean that this one doesn't fit into any sort of continuity? The only movie that does that could possibly be Bojak and even then why is Trunks there? None of the movies fit into continuity (Trunks special and bardock special were never technically movies), they are all non canon and fit nowhere in the time line of things. there will always be one or 2 things that don't fit in the time line of each movie.
This is just the first movie i really noticed it lol. The false super saiyajin thing just really got to me I guess haha. Thanks for letting me know Lando.
What would be good to review is Brolly!! Man, you'll enjoy that and also to a addition quite equivalent to the Lord Slug Movie... I just pray you endure the Bio Broly... I'll stop here.

Trunks went back in time again at the very end of the Cell Saga to tell Goku and pals that he defeated the Androids and Cell in his future timeline. So he probably decided to stick around for a bit when he heard about the tournament.
Once again proving anything connected to teamfourstar is the epitome of awesome. You rock Lani, and if any says otherwise, just remind them: you've got a kickass shotgun and they don't.
he couldn't wish for immortality, the Earth Dragon can only grant one wish once, such as only being able to wish someone back to life one time, Jr. wished for immortality so that is no longer a wish option
How come you haven't reviewed any of the other DBZ movies its been nearly the entire year since your last review I understand you are busy I just really want to see your thoughts on the other movies.
What about the whole wistling scene where Picolo rips his ears off?
ReplyDeleteI decided I didn't want to give away too much of the ending this time around, I'm sure alot of people will give me the same comment lol.
ReplyDeleteat first i thought lord slug sounded lame
ReplyDeletebut then it turned out he was namekian and the name just became literal

ReplyDelete^Evil King Picolo wished for his youth back, I think you're interpreting the rules wrong.
