  2. Great video, could definatly see way more mouth syncroniztion. When you talk about how you try to do waht a character would do but couldn't really explain much past that? I actually understand that, i write in my spare time and when a character is designed and 'fleshed out' i try to make them stick with their own personality. Of course since this is an abridge the characters are made and that could make it quite a bit trickier, but i do understand where you are coming from on that. Often its more entertaining as an author (or story board author in your case I'd imagine)to maintain your own version of the character and just let em go where they want.

  4. Awesome job, Lani! You really manage to maintain a great blend of old school and new school abridging styles.

  5. It was a very pleasant treat to tune in today and see this story line advancing. Literally, I am in a library right now and I think I scared the person next to me when I squealed and chuckled a bit. :) All the same. Never sacrifice and make jokes just for jokes' sake, while we all are here because we appreciate your humor, that's good and we can definitely respect that too. Keep up the good work on all the things you have going on.

  6. I'm really looking forwards to the Dark World Tournament arc and, even though it's gonna be further away, the Tunnel to the Demon Plain arcs. :D

  8. Interesting statement about staying in relatively in character with the mains. I definitely think there are two styles of humor when it comes to abridging:

The first involves having all the character have basically the same characteristics and personalities (albiet greatly exaggerated). This is the style that is done by you and Team four star, for example.

The other kind is screwball, off the wall, random comedy. In this type, characters will be wildly different from their canon personalities. This type of humor is best personified by purpleeyeswtf and Code MENT, where a a character like Suzaku, who was an honor driven, intelligent fighter in the show is a complete and total idiot in the abridgement.

Both types of humor work, however, and it is a joy to be able to watch both of them! :)

  10. I totally understand what you mean. I wouldn't want to to write out how a character should act, and than just completely change the character for a joke or two. then again it get's really difficult. On your case, you just didn't want yusuke to do anything that doesn't seem like yusuke. You wanted him to have his yusuke character. I totally understand that, regardless of some jokes not being funny, It felt like an actual show, and I very much enjoyed it, ofcourse I did laugh every now and than. Keep it up Lani! :)

  11. Having the characters stay in character is good.

While I can enjoy either kind of abridging humor I think this one is harder to keep funny.

  12. Meh, stick to Team4Star, its the only thing you're good at.

  13. I completely see what you mean as well by stretching the character into OOC (out of character) grounds.

I really enjoy both your works on YYHA and Team4Star. I haven't got back to seeing your YYHA in a couple of years now, I got left behind, but I will get back. Love your stuff man, keep it up!

  14. Good stuff, Lani, it's great hearing the YYHA voices again. I know it may be a bit early to think about the Dark Tournament, but it might be fun to have a few fellow abridgers guest star...
