"Maybe I'm just not skilled out this game" No kidding, took me 3 hours to master the controls and honestly the new control system works better.
I played SVR series on Legend Mode bored as hell, finally glad they shortened the reversal window and improved the AI in some ways...
The story mode this year has been pretty sucky, especially Triple H's, Jesus Christ the amount of backstage fights.
Gameplay is better this year in my opinion. I think WWE needs to give the game development over to AKI the guys who made Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy. If there still around. ._.
Meh well least there in game stories match there television product, shitty bookings. Last I checked Drew McIntyre was a jobber these days. Meh the entire things silly. -Le Sigh-
Lani your not the only one who had difficulty playing WWR 12 DSP if you know him doeslets plays of new games, well any way he had difficult playing it and if fucked him of and i agree with you cause i played it also and i found it disapointing
At the beginning when you were talking about the N64 games, I was real happy to hear that someone else plays or has played those games. If you know anyone who still owns an N64 look for WWF NO MERCY<- the last good game Aki made before making the def jam vendetta series.
Glad to know you're a smart wrestling fan. Keep on rockin with YYHA and TFS DBZA series brother.
I don't get why people get so upset at the controls. They're really simple to me, and you still use the analogue stick. Honestly, going through the tutorial might have helped you a bit.
I didn't even know the game had a tutorial... See atleast SvR 2011 had the main menu be a fucking practice arena for you to get used to stuff. This game had none of that it just throws you in there and says "Good Luck"
As someone who has not only been a wrestling fan since I was a damn baby(literally the first match I ever saw was Undertakers Debut at Survivor Series), and who has played almost all of the big wrestling games, I can say for sure that WWE 12 has it's up's and downs. I quit playing the story modes back in 08, as you mentioned Lani they get so frustrating to the point they ethier dont make any sense or their just fucking retarded. I mean I swear they have Vince Fucking Russo writing their stories. The controls you just need to get use too, after sometime practicing ive gotten the hang of it without too much issue. The gameplay is a lot smoothier as well, except for the fact the interupting move system gets too god damn annoying, and a number of other bugs. However the online play is the one thing I have always enjoyed. Least when I played with my buddies, because playing with randoms your likely to get fucked over. Anyway, online is fun....when it actually works. This year I have never seen the servers in a worse state. But at least THQ is working to patch and repair them(for once...). I mean they ignored them completely in 2011. Bottom line is, WWE 12 is a hit and miss game. If you got the patience too get use to the controls, and find a solution around the new move interuption system, this game can be a hell of a lot of fun, especially when playing online with actual friends. If you dont got the patience, and cant stand dealing with early release bugs and over aggressive/retarded AI, dont play it. Anyway, loved your opinion Lani. Keep kicking ass.
I own a copy of '12 for my Xbox as well. I don't think it's as bad as you say. I mean, OK, there are some issues with the AI and mechanics, but that's been the case for every wrestling game. I agree, though, the storylines and the DLC shit suck. I, too, am a firm believer in used games, because who the fuck can routinely spend $60 on new games, especially in this economy?
Will the DLC plan work? Hell no. People will still buy from GameStop, and if it gets too severe, they'll just stop buying games, period, and another Video Game Crash will happen.
See also, Lani, if it's cool, I'd like to shoot the shit with you on LIVE. My gamertag is theloosecannon7.
Yeah I also love how its advertised as the most reliable control system yet. most reliable controls my ass. I gave up in the middle of the sheamus story. now all i do is play universe mode on it. in fact i might just trade it in. They seriously need to overall it by next year. hopefully next years game works.
Ya i have played WWE games before and this one looks HORRENDOUS! honestly i think '09 (i think that was the one i played) was alot better! on a side note great job with YYH and TFS keep it up! also try out Legend of Dragoon. Old school PSX but the story is awesome.
You know what I think. I think they heard the saying that 1000 monkeys beating on a keyboard will eventually write the complete works of Shakespeare, and wanted to run a scientific test to see if they could do the same thing with game design. I don't think it worked.
Actually I've learned that you don't really need to do the prompt when backstage, instead of looking for the Y to light up just whip him to whatever object and do a move and you'll knock him out. Or at least this has been my experience.
Honestly I liked the game but as far as realistic, just the Triple H storyline alone has more backstage brawls than the Hardcore Title Era. Also you miss grapples and strikes a lot more in this game. And I mean when your right in front of the guy
i sold this one, i for the most part hold on the game till the next one comes out, i think the wrestling system was just not fun, the matches felt flat, the story was nothing special, this game felt just slow, and needed more polish, i hope next year is better, and i soon will be training to be a pro wrestler
i think the problem is that you are spamming the trigger. If you spam it it almost never works. you have to time it and hit it once for it to be effective.
Oh boy, the first comment. Hmmm, better say something inspirational..........vaginaboob.
ReplyDeleteYou should play Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. That would be fun to watch. Hur Hur Hur~

ReplyDeleteI would love to see more of this game, hope you record more!
ReplyDeletein svr the ai was not constantly blocking regular moves but would close to always block the signature and finisher
ReplyDeleteI didn't even bother with this game, considering I don't have the system for it. It looks good though. I hope to see more, Lani!!
ReplyDeleteDude, you sounded real close to a rage quit.

ReplyDeleteWWE 12 was way to disapointing for me did not like it at all
ReplyDeleteand also COD doesnt do the code to play online crap
the main developers who do that crap is THQ and EA
EA is a major company so they can get away with it but THQ is nothing they shouldnt be pulling that crap
I'm more of a Dead or Alive/Rumbling Roses kinda guy.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the PLOT and BACKSTORY, if you know what I mean and I think ya do.
lol loved the vid sad that the game isnt better but keep on doin what ya do lani!

Nice Great Sauske mask. Please tell me that's a Great Sauske mask. XD
ReplyDeleteWhen "WWE Smackdown Here comes the Pain" has better controlls theirs somthing wrong with the game :P
ReplyDeleteYou seriously can't play this game haha.
ReplyDeleteReversals only work if you don't spam the reverse trigger, cause that would mean you reverse everything, and there's no fun in that.
It's to the right of the vending machine, not on the vending machine, so anything in the lower corridor. Not near the top. It says TO THE RIGHT.
Also, it's realistic and better if you don't constantly try running attacks.
and you can change the target by pressing R3.
You've also turned off cutscenes in Road To Wrestlemania. Which explains why you're in certain matches.
