  1. The pedo-chocobo is even funnier to me because I met the voice actress that plays it. *g*

Loved this review. Never seen Unlimited, but I had heard the horror stories. Fight scene was especially epic.

  2. obviously nothing can redeem it...honestly I do remember this. i watched it a long time ago. and the only part that was interesting to me was when Kaze was fighting, and Mikenshi(is that how you spell the white masked guy's name?) I liked him, probably because he was to me a hot bishounen guy...yeah I was weird back then...and that was only four years ago, when I started college.

Oh on a side note, have you seen the YYH movie fandub, their holding auditions for? Are you going to try out for a part or not...? Just asking.

  3. If there is something that I really love about FF Unimited though, it's got to be THE MUSIC! made by Uematsu, no doubt. I must say it has the most beautiful music I've ever heard

  5. FFU really does suck. It's one of a very few number of series I couldn't finish. Love the mock fight and the Azumanga Daioh music at the end. Great vid all around.

  6. Really great review. I didn't expect such a good review from you right away. I thought it would take a while for you to get in the swing of things.

Oh and uh... *cough* yourgirlfriendhasaniceass *cough*

  7. Very nice, does that mean Azumanga Daioh is next?

  8. aside from the review... I think the rat in the cage behind you is cute ;)

back to the review, the phone call for soil made me laugh hard

  9. I haven't seen FFU since 2004 and I remember it being okay-ish. Things suck less when you're younger, I guess. But even back then I knew Yu's VA couldn't act worth crap. But the thing that really gets me was the massive amount of fanservice in the last episode. And I still haven't figured out what Lisa's role in all of this was.

  10. Hehehehe, I knew it would be Final Fantasy Unlimited! x3

You know, as horrible as the anime is (and god knows Fabura is annoying at the beginning of EVERY episode), I really do like it. It's kind of like Labyrinth for me. xD Sucks, but I love it.

Awesome review, and I loved the fight scene. ^^ Great work, Lani!

  11. 9001, not even the reviews are safe from Kajet's wrath. But yeah, yu's voice actor seriously reminded me of William Shatner for some reason. Maybe it's because they can't act. And the fight scenes were better in... dare I say it... DBGT. As failblog would say... ANIME FAIL!

  12. So, gonna do HxH at some point, I hope, right? ^_^

  13. I have to say...that battle between you and the DVD made my day. XD

Boy, those dub voices sound weird. And the "soil is my power" part, I just found a funny catchphrase from that show.

  14. Wow, you really got it for $0.20 a disk?

So how much experience did you get for that victory?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Not much as paying 20c a disk was still the equivilent of paying someone 20C to throw pepper in my eyes and blast an airhorn in my ear for 9 hours

  16. Dude your vid doesnt wanna work. Wtf is up with that I really wanted to watch it too....

  17. Yeah, I had heard some pretty bad stuff about Final Fantasy Unlimited so avoiding it wasn't very hard.

Now,I could be completely crazy but was the trailer for Hare+Guu? The music sounded vaguely familiar.

  18. Wait... is an Azumanga review in the future? That oughta be REALLY interesting and hilarious from your point of view!

Anyway, GREAT stuff, as always! I swear I'll donate once I find a job...

  19. I've not seen FFU, but it cannot possible be worst than when they put the name FF in front of the biggest piece of $#!* ever "Spirits Within"?

  20. XD That's why I didn't buy it. And we all know FF12 sucked... XD After 10 it all went downhill with the change in companies. Hate is not the word I have for FF12... It cannot even be described in human language.

  21. i kinda have to agree, final fantasy unlimited wasn't a very good anime. However, if u want to see what azumanga daioh (the anime that u hear the opening of at the end) done right looks like, check out Pani Poni Dash.

  22. FFU is really meant for a younger audience. The characters and script were written for the one purpose anything with the FF franchise name on it is for, making money. I don't expect the target audience was meant to be over 11.

While I agree this show was not very entertaining for me (reminds me of sailor moon), I am sure five to eight year olds ( a power ranger fanbase age) would enjoy it fine.

  23. That was awesome, I hope you make more
