Hey Guys

I'm sorry if it seems like I'm causing a panic here. I'm not trying to cause mass histeria or a mob mentality here. Just trying to keep everything updated. Honestly at the end of the day it is just a YT account and while it does suck that it is unjustly taken down worst come to worse we build up another or find another site to host. The series is going to continue and we are grateful for everyone's concern and efforts. If we do get the account back then HUZZAH if not then well.. like I said before damn shame but we will rebuild.

Thank you to everyone one of our diehard fans. keep being awesome ^^v

  2. I think YouTubers as a whole are starting to get fed up with how YouTube is being managed at the moment.

The fact that a person's work can be simply removed at the drop of a hat without any verification on whether it is protected by fair use or not has gone from annoying to insulting.

I hope for the best for Team Four Star and I hope to see the next season and all of the awesome jokes, perhaps you should follow suit with the rest of ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com and post the videos on Blip.

  3. Could always try a rever (or however that's spelled) like LK did. Then again, I have a hard time watching those because they seem to be a bit glitchy recently.

If you guys are up to it, I'd like to see a torrent of the season(s) released. Flash video is good, but I would love to have a copy of the actual movie files. And I would seed that for a long time...

  4. Why not just put the new episodes on Blip and TGWTG and have everyone in their accounts direct people over there? It seems a simple enough solution to the problem at hand to me.

  5. Or if not, pull an LK and get a seperate site for the series.

That's piss of YouTube somethin' chronic.

  6. Have you Guys though about hosting the TFS Stuff on Blip.tv? Open a Blog on which you present the Videos or maybe on thatguywiththeglasses.com?

  7. It really sucks this had to happen, but maybe it's just a sign it's time to expand beyond Youtube anyway? They're no longer the only game in town, and your fans will follow you.

As already mentioned, TGWTG would be a reasonable place to host it if you moved to Blip, until you made up your own webspace.

    ReplyDelete
  8. TGWTG doesn't host videos, far as I'm aware. The TFS account on TGWTG has the videos embedded from YouTube, it's not TGWTG that hosts their current (removed) videos.

But I would love a torrent file to watch them on, if all else fails. But I would really like to hope you guys wouldn't be so desperate to put them on Megavideo, even though they're so short. That quality is usually horrendous, though it'd prolly grab people who peer at videos there.

    Would Veoh work, maybe?

  9. I agree with that michael power said. toei and youtube have gotten so crazy they're even starting to delete the over 9000 parodies.

The way things have been going, i honestly don't know if even Kajeto(the guy who started the over 9000 thing) will be safe from the ban hammer.

The really sad part is that FUNimation has given the thumbs up on the TFS parodies and even likes Kajeto's work.

  10. Also, i would say that veoh wouldn't be the best of sites since before every single one of their videos they make you wait through a 15 to 30 second ad, which totally turns me away from them.

Guess its better than suffering under youtube's tyranny though.

  11. this isnt just about TFS anymore its about how youtube has been running the stupid site in the first place, this is unfair to everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I didn't meant that they should behosted there! Only posted - the Videos should be uploaded on blip.tv an then embed on TGWTG.com!

  13. You guys could just start your own site. I know I'd put down money for that. At least then you'd have an accurate view number. That always bothered me about Youtube; they would suppress view numbers if they thought it was too high. Wtf?

I'm just gonna throw in my two cents here.
Lani, I respect you and what you do. I'm as angry as the rest of you. And although there is a chance that you can get the Youtube account back, what if you don't? You rebuild, but the odds are high that Toei will just go through and tear it down again.
I don't know Blip's policy on things like this, but honestly, I think it would be much more simple to just pack up shop and move there than to deal with the frustration that is Youtube.

  15. Hi. Same poster as above.
I just wanted to clarify that I don't want to be a wet blanket on things, but that is my honest opinion.

  16. I agree with tsu_chanb. Although it may not be cost effective it may be a better idea to just start a page up. That way you could have more freedom from the Youtube gestapo, and possibly even have more features for your fans, like a forum or whatnot.

  17. Hey. Just don't let that whole Youtube thingy bring you down, okay? It's awesome to know that you want to continue making the series. The world wide web is huge, I'm sure you WILL find a webspace to host the videos.
Plus your fans won't forget you from one moment to another just like that. Sooner or later everyone will know TFS' new location, you can even announce it on Youtube. (The irony...)

Good luck, eat a cookie, have fun. ^^
    Greetings from Germany.

  18. Couldn't you just post episodes on thatguywiththeglasses.com? he made the site since he got kicked for five second movies. just make a vid tell people you're moving end of problems right? also why is youtube being so damned picky about copywright stuff especially if they have FULL MOVIES not to mention tons and tons of anime

    ReplyDelete
  19. Guys don't let You?Tube bring you down. You did an awesome work and keep it up for you fans!

    Long live T4S!

Btw. I thought this may interest you

It's awesome [in my opinion] tribute to you guys. Very uncommon.

    Cheers!

  20. If youtube bans Kajetokun, its game over for them and TOEI.

They have already stirred the hornets nest with TFS's ban, but if they get Kajeto, they will see a whole new level of fury from the internets the likes of which the world has never seen before.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm happy to hear that TFS will probably continue with DBZ Abridged. I'm like the others--just find a new site to put the episodes on. If YouTube is going to be like that, forget them. Go somewhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hmm . . . Does anyone know roughly how much it would cost to start their own site? I was guessing it might run in he thousands

    ReplyDelete
  23. If Youtube bans Kajetokun then I call for /b/ to attack Youtube. After all, they are'n t your personal army but if it's over 9000 people that wants them to do it, it's not personal anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  24. God, look at all of you lot moaning over a account being banned by a company which has every right to ban them.

The company owns the copyright to DBZ.
If they want to remove DBZ vidoes then they bloody well can.

Also, do you really think that companies are scared of a internet attack?
Oh wait that is right. Whenever internet websites get attacked (Big ones) it gets in the news and then the normal public calls the attackers terroists and wants them put into jail normally or be fined.

Since they are attacking a public website which normally people of all ages go onto.
There are more people in real life that have no clue about internet memes or videos...etc and so when a website which they use is attacked by people they get upset.

When they normally find out that the attack is over something on the internet then they normally say that the people who did the attack are stupid because who would really get upset over something over the internet :|

Laws in real life and court etc are no laughing matter.
So go and attack over a account or accounts being banned while the public hate you.

  25. Even though I LOVE your parogies I have to say that in the end you turely are "the bad guy" here as you didn't have permission to use the clips from the show. While a FULL parogy, one where you did both audio and animation whould fall under the fair use/parogy law, you still used original animations from the anime. So try as you might.. the law is the law. Silly as it may sound I've seen movies where they show tiny five second clips of other films and they themselves have to have the rights to use the tiny clip. Hollywood and the rest of the media follow these laws tighty so it's not just an attatck on the small guys, you just didn't follow it.

But I turly hope you find your own site to upload the videos and hope you continue to brake the law for my entertainment.

freehostia has a good free plan you can use in the meantime until you can upgrade to a bigger size.

  26. Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright. In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include—
    (1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;
    (2) the nature of the copyrighted work;
    (3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and
    (4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.
The fact that a work is unpublished shall not itself bar a finding of fair use if such finding is made upon consideration of all the above factors.

Just because Toei owns DBZ, doesn't mean it's free from the laws you so proudly tout. Parody is a protected part of Fair Use.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Toei is a company in Japan and so it does not need to follow those U.S.A fair use laws.
Youtube has to take into a count other companies from other countries.

If a company from another country want something removed because it is not allowed in their own country then youtube can not just turn around and say "Sorry but this website in based in the U.S.A and so only U.S.A law apply here"

Youtube is a website used around the world.
I am sure that if Youtube did not follow other country laws, that other countries would start to block out youtube or companies would try and sue it because they were not removing copyrighted videos (What is copyright in their own country)

  28. Well it wouldn't be the first time one of my favorite shows to watch on youtube had to switch to a different host. I recommend blip.tv. They take a little longer to load but they won't give you any shit about what you upload.

    ReplyDelete
  29. just go on to blip.com, i mean seriously toie took down your F.A.Q. barely after it was put up. They are going to continue doing this... they will subscribe to all of your pages and shoot at all of your videos. There isn't really a way to stop them.
You can talk to them, ask them, figuratively punch them in the face -smack- and they will just delete another video.
They subscribed to weeklytubeshow already...who knows how long it'll take for them to go after everyone? :( The closest thing that i can think of as a solution is not make a video telling the name of your new account your going to make (they watch those you know) and just post a blog here...i doubt they hardly ever go here. And then post your videos on blip. no where near simple but plausibly effective.
